Mother’s Day is the perfect time to celebrate the adventurous mums who love nothing more than swapping their heels for hiking boots and escaping into the great outdoors. Instead of the usual flowers or chocolates, why not surprise her with something she can take on her next camping adventure?
Here’s a list of thoughtful Mother’s Day gifts that will make any camping mum feel loved and appreciated 🥰
Obviously, I know a little about the perfect bag to take camping so that didn't take too much effort.
For the rest of these suggestions, I did some research and came up with one brand suggestion for each of them. I have not had any dealings with any of these companies but I checked reviews and they looked pretty good. I have particularly looked for Australian owned companies.
But go ahead and search around for the brands that suit your needs and budget.
A Stylish, Durable CamPaq Bag
Well of course this is the top of the list!!! And we have a special Mother's Day gift option for you. Either a Pink Weekend Escape Bundle for $95 (instead of usual $110) OR if Mum's fav colour isn't pink, you can use code LOVEMUM to choose the colours for your Weekend Escape Bundle.
Help Mum stay organised on the road with a CamPaq Bag — durable, waterproof, and perfect for keeping gear tidy. It’s a practical gift that she’ll use on every trip.
Lightweight, Cozy Camping Blanket
Perfect for snuggling up by the campfire or adding a little luxury to the campsite, a lightweight blanket is a practical and comforting gift.
I like the idea of having a blanket you can wrap up in while you sitting beside a campfire dreamily watching the flames flicker while you sip a nice red wine or a hot chocolate (with marshmallows of course!). But my concern is with sparks from fires causing blankets to erupt in flames. So I found this one on the internet and I am impressed

Portable Coffee Maker or ThermalMug
Perfect forFor mums who can’t go without their morning coffee, a compact coffee maker or insulated mug is the ultimate treat. Personally, I use coffee bags for my coffee. I did initially purchase a fancy one that you heat up the coffee on the stove and steam and froth your milk - but it was very time consuming and fiddly so I settled for coffee bags. I found a brand flavour I love and that does me. But I know some prefer a real espresso coffee. In my research I came across this little machine which looks very impressive - and easy!!

Check out the youtube video by OutNAboutAustralia He does a great short video really showing how this works.
Solar-Powered Lantern or Fairy Lights
Bring a little magic to her campsite with solar-powered lanterns or fairy lights. They’re both functional and charming. There are of course so many places to get fairy lights but I really like the look of these ones that wind onto a reel - otherwise if you are like me, they just get into a big tangled mess and it is daylight before I get them working.

Personalised Camping Chair or Mug
Add a personal touch with a custom camping chair or mug featuring her name, a fun quote, or a design she loves. It is probably a bit more difficult to get a personalised camping chair in time for Mum now but you could possibly get a sign made to attach to the chair she already has. But she would probably love a personalised camp mug. I found a great site that personalises everything. For me - I love my Yeti mug - I have a large one and when I fill it with my coffee in the morning, it lasts all day.

A Weekend Away at Her Favourite Spot
Sometimes the best gift is quality time. Plan a special family camping weekend or gift her a booking at her favourite site. If you are wanting to surprise Mum with something different, have a look at Hipcamp. They have so many different places - usually picturesque farmstays.
Camping Cookbook or Meal Kit
Make camp cooking easier with a cookbook full of outdoor-friendly recipes or a pre-made meal kit for the trip. There are of course so many camp cook books on the internet. The important thing for camping is keeping it simple. You don't want to be carting 50 ingredients for a campfire meal. This book I came across not only has recipes but suggestions for good camping spots and stories behind the cooking. Looks a really good read!

Skincare Essentials for the Outdoors
Help Mum take care of her skin on the road with natural sunscreen, lip balm, and moisturiser designed for outdoor life.
Well there are so many skincare products, I really would be researching til the camping trip is done and dusted. So for me, in my opinion, I am going to suggest the important products for outdoor travel
- good broad spectrum SP50 sunscreen
- a good lip balm
- lightweight moisturising cream to to combat dryness from sum and wind
- micellar water or gentle cleanser
- aloe vera after sun gel just in case you do get a case of sunburn.
Fun Family Camping Games
Pack some laughter with lightweight games like cards, travel-size board games, or outdoor activities the whole family can enjoy.
I found this great looking outdoor store which sells various games especially for outdoor travellers

A Handwritten Voucher for a Stress-Free Trip
Sometimes the sweetest gift is a promise — a homemade voucher where the kids (or partner!) take care of the packing, cooking, or camp setup so Mum can truly relax.
Wrap-up:
No matter which gift you choose, the best part of Mother’s Day is showing appreciation and spending time together. Whether it’s a thoughtful gift or an unforgettable weekend under the stars, Mum is sure to feel the love!
